The library of the Museum in Bruntál is a basic public library with a specialised book collection. It has been listed in the libraries register of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic since 2002.
The history of the museum library as a specialised workplace dates back to the mid-1970s, when cooks began to be recorded in an additions list. No records have previously existed until then. Until the 1990s the library was used solely by the staff of the former District Regional History Museum. Since 1992 it has provided services to the general public. The library was and still is designed as a specialised library, as many of its titles are not available in other public libraries.
